An Experiment in Modern Church Life.

September 2008 Update:  New website up!  See the new vision at www.whatifchurch.com

July 2008.

Big changes are coming soon.  Mound Assembly of God has had a long history in the Mound and Lake Minnetonka area.  It has had years of tremendous blessing and impactful ministry as well as many times of trouble and division.  During the last year we have been discussing and planning our future and how this fits with the history of this church.  Our leadership has agreed that our future has little resemblence to what this church has been in the past.

In our future we see ourselved focusing more on commnuity and less on denomination, more on family and less on programs, more and your personal relationship with God and less on the organization being the center of all faith.  In essence we are at a crossroads.  Jesus said you don't put new wine in old wineskins.  We find ourselves that the more we try and live the vision God has given for our future the more we find that is doesn't have much to do with our past.  We have realized that to follow our future we must allow the past to die.  We must lay to rest Mound Assembly of God and everything that it is and was.  Only then can we allow God to rebirth something new.

We have changed our leadership structure and will at some point begin to meet under a new name.  For now we will become a nameless place, meeting on Saturday night's to worship and to learn more about what God wants us to be.  We will continue our Thursday night Nephesh Youth and Highpoint.  It is in these areas that we serve a tremendous need in our community.

More of our vision and plan will be revealed in the future but for now...if you are looking for something different and something new we would love to talk with you.  We desire to develop a place of faith that is involved in it's community, intentional about ministry and involved in family.  God is bringing us many new partners in this new effort.   It is exciting to see that there are so many people who think the way we do and feel that there must be something more.  More to faith, more to community and more to life.

Our first new gathering will be on Saturday evening June 14th in the Nephesh Youth Building at 5595 Westwood Ave.  We will gather for a shared meal at 6:15pm and our worship time will begin at 7:00pm.  What can you dream about?  What would happen if  we just get back to basic faith and the simple life of  loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself.
